The Enclave at Pinetree Country Club, in nearby Kennesaw, is a new 55+ community for retirees wanting an active, low-maintenance lifestyle. It is an upscale neighborhood adjacent to Pinetree Golf & Country Club. Residents can enjoy a private golf course and all of the club amenities include a tennis facility and a full size Olympic swimming pool. Homes here begin in the $400's.

Located a few short miles north of Marietta, in Woodstock, is The Orchards of East Cherokee. This new Active Adult Community offers residences two distinct villages. One has 2-4 bedroom Ranch Condominium homes and another with 2-4 bedroom single family homes. All of these homes are low to no maintenance with prices from the upper $200s.

Atherton Place is an an independent and assisted living apartment community located in Marietta. They offer a range of sizes and styles (from efficiencies to two-bedrooms) with amenities like full kitchen (with optional dishwasher), an emergency call system, 24-hour security, cable-ready TV capabilities, housekeeping and laundry services.

Covered parking is available to those residents who have a car. Monthly rentals begin at just under $2000 for independent living and just over $3000 for assisted living. This includes all of the utilities except telephone and cable TV as well as a full range of other features depending upon your needs.

These are only a few of the many retirement communities in Marietta and the surrounding area. The biggest downfall to choosing a Marietta Ga Retirement Community or one in the surrounding area is the traffic but Cobb County does have a very good transit authority that links with Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit and seniors ride for less than half the price of a regular adult fare.
